With Copywhiz, you can pre-configure the action that must be taken if it encounters files with the same name when copying files.
This is especially helpful when taking automated backups. You don't have to give special attention to answering the 'File Replace' message boxes that may appear while the files are being copied.
One such action is the ability to auto-rename duplicate files so that both versions (source and destination) of the files are kept instead of replacing the destination file
with the source file.
Here are the steps to follow:
Step 1: Open Advanced Settings
If you have selected files in Copywhiz using the File Explorer (Windows Explorer),
then go to the destination folder. Right-click inside the folder, choose Copywhiz → Paste Advanced to open the Copywhiz window and click on the
'Advanced Settings' button as shown in the picture below.
Paste Advanced option
If you have Copywhiz's main window already open, then you can directly click on the 'Advanced Settings'
button as shown in the picture below.

Step 2: Select General Tab
Now select the 'General' tab. The following window will appear.
Auto rename files with duplicate names
Step 3: Select rename options
Now, click on the drop-down, as shown in the picture, and click on either 'Rename source file' or 'Rename destination file.' Plus, you can provide a file name suffix to easily
identify the exact files renamed during a file copy batch.
Step 4: Finally, Paste
Press the OK button and click on the 'Paste Now' button to copy the files with auto-renaming of duplicate files enabled. A sound plays indicating the successful completion of a file copy task.
Copywhiz works on Microsoft Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows Server, Windows 8, Windows 7
