What is this portable thing in  RecentX ? How is it different from the regular version?

All the  RecentX  program files are packed in a single zip file so that you can simply extract the files and run  RecentX .exe.

You don't have to run the installer which requires special admin permissions.

Also the portable version is mainly used to carry the program on a USB pen drive.

The disadvantage of the portable version is it doesn't integrate automatically with Windows File Explorer so that you can right click on files and folders and assign tags to them.

The price and licensing of a portable version is the same as the regular installer version.

It is better to use the installer version.
