With small files, the  Copywhiz   file copy progress box disappears very quickly before I can read how many files were actually copied. How do I make it stay longer to view the progress? Is there any other place i can view it from?

Yes, while working with small files, the  Copywhiz  copy progress dialog disappears very quickly. 

However, you can generate a log file for every copying process and detect whether the files were successfully copied or not.

Watch a short video to know how this is done:

To do so, Run  Copywhiz , click on Advanced Settings and select "General Tab'. Select Show log  'Always' from the drop-down list as shown below. The log file will open automatically once the copy process is over.
